Menus scrolling upward on their own
A distinct problem from the general menu bug: the list moves without you. It is most painful on the long screens — Soldier Management, Crafting, Assign Work.

Where it hurts most
The game has several genuinely long scrollable lists, and this bug makes them unusable rather than merely annoying:
- Soldier Management — dozens of citizens with per-hour rates you need to compare.
- Assign Work — every building with its job category and slot count.
- Crafting — a grid of blueprints with a detail panel.
- Core Fragment Collection — twelve slots plus effect text.
What to try, in order
1. Unplug or disable your controller
Do this first. The game has full controller support, which means a connected pad is always being read. A stick with any drift produces continuous directional input, and in a list that reads as scrolling — even while your hand is on the mouse. Unplug it, or disable Steam Input for the game, and test.
2. Check Steam Input configuration
Steam → Properties → Controller. If a layout is mapping something to a directional input, it will fight the menu. Setting it to "Disable Steam Input" is a clean test.
3. Test with all mods disabled
Same reasoning as the menu bug page — UI mods conflict. If you keep mods, load UI ones first.
4. Reset display and scaling settings
Non-native resolutions and scaling overrides have produced UI problems in this game before.
5. Report it with detail
What makes a report actionable here: which exact screen, whether a controller is connected, your build number, and whether it happens immediately or after some time in the menu.
Frequently asked
Why does the Pax Autocratica menu keep scrolling up?
No official cause has been published. Community reports point at input conflicts — a connected controller with stick drift alongside mouse and keyboard is the most commonly cited trigger for auto-scroll behaviour in games with full controller support.
Does unplugging my controller fix it?
It is the fastest thing to test. The game has full controller support, so a drifting stick is read as continuous directional input even while you are using a mouse.
Is this the same as the menu bug?
No. That one is about menus not responding correctly. This one is about lists moving on their own. Try the fixes separately.
