What that means for buying now
The trade
Buying today costs less and gets you a game that works but is unfinished, for up to two years. Waiting costs more and gets you co-op, a balance pass, and presumably a UI that has had two years of complaints applied to it. Neither is wrong — but they are genuinely different products.
How to know when something actually changes
- Steam feature list. Co-op appears as a store category before it appears in marketing.
- Store price. The increase is announced rather than silent, but the store shows it first.
- Our patch tracking, which is also an RSS feed.
Frequently asked
How long will Pax Autocratica be in Early Access?
Multiverse expects approximately two years. That is an estimate published in the Steam Early Access notes, not a commitment.
Will Pax Autocratica get co-op?
Yes — it is a stated goal for the Early Access period, targeting 4-player co-op before the 1.0 release. No date has been given.
Will the price increase?
Yes. Steam’s Early Access notes state the price will increase for the full release.
